Police vetting
Prepare for a role of trust. Find out what you need, gather the right documents and follow your application through the authorised organisation.
Before you begin
Vetting is one part of safeguarding—not a replacement for supervision, clear boundaries, references and safe recruitment. Check the requirements for your organisation and discipline.

Confirm your role
Check with your club or Swimming NZ whether your paid or volunteer role requires vetting. Its process covers coaches, relevant officials, team managers and administrators. Other disciplines may use a different process.

Complete consent and your application
Use the official consent form and current Police Vetting application below. Follow the identification instructions in the current form. Do not complete agency-only declarations yourself.

Submit to the authorised receiving team
The hub’s application intake is being prepared. Until it opens, follow Swimming NZ’s official submission process. Uploading documents is not the same as identity verification or a completed Police check.

Wait for confirmation and plan renewal
Swimming NZ manages approval and accreditation. Confirm your status and renewal date with the organisation before taking on a role.
